The Parquet Table
Once upon a floor
An old parquet floor can be a beautiful thing when lovingly restored and some people spend thousands of pounds doing so. I find it astonishing that others just throw them away. I came across bags of these discarded little oak boards and was inspired to make a table that, like the floor it had once been, would be strong enough to stand up to decades of use. I made a simple, very solid, Japanese-inspired rail from oak and legs from olive ash then framed the top with some European Ash.
SPECS:
The table is made from reclaimed oak parquet flooring, olive ash and locally sourced European ash.
It stands 41cm high, is 58cm wide and 112cm long.
